The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funds housing, infrastructure and social services projects for residents with low and moderate income that live within the Travis County CDBG Service Area, which varies by program year. For the current CDBG Program Year (PY25), this service area includes all of Bee Cave, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, Lakeway, Manor, San Leanna, Sunset Valley, Webberville, and West Lake Hills, along with all of the unincorporated areas of Travis County. Residents and non-profit agencies can help determine funding priorities by providing ideas for projects and information about community needs. The service area for ongoing projects funded in prior program years and future projects may vary from the above.

CDBG funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development. The program provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled cities and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons. Travis County CDBG Service Area Map

The Travis County CDBG Service Area includes all of unincorporated Travis County* and several other jurisdictions, which vary between program years, as follows:

  • For projects receiving PY19 funding (including all CDBG-CV projects), the additional jurisdictions include San Leanna and Webberville.
  • For projects receiving PY20 funding, the additional jurisdictions include Creedmoor, Lago Vista, San Leanna, Webberville, and West Lake Hills.
  • For projects receiving PY21 & PY22 funding, the additional jurisdictions include Bee Cave, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, San Leanna, Webberville, and West Lake Hills.
  • For projects receiving PY23 funding, the additional jurisdictions include Bee Cave, Creedmoor, Lakeway, Lago Vista, San Leanna, Webberville, and West Lake Hills.
  • For projects receiving PY24 funding, the additional jurisdictions include Bee Cave, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, Lakeway, San Leanna, Sunset Valley, Webberville, and West Lake Hills.
  • For projects receiving PY25 funding, the additional jurisdictions include Bee Cave, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, Lakeway, Manor, San Leanna, Sunset Valley, Webberville, and West Lake Hills.

*The unincorporated areas may change at any time due to annexation or de-annexation.

Less Then Three Months Remaining for Travis County Resident Input in The PY26 Community Needs Survey.

The CDBG Community Needs Survey for Program Year 2026 is currently available to all Travis County residents. The information collected will help guide the selection of CDBG and HOME projects for the Program Year 2026 (October 2026-September 2027) The survey became available online April 1, 2025 and will remain open until March 31, 2026. It is available in English and Spanish (español). Printed copies can be obtained at Travis County Community Centers or by request via mail. Residents will have the opportunity to present community needs and provide input on funds to be used in the unincorporated areas of Travis County or anywhere in Bee Cave, Creedmoor, Lago Vista, Lakeway, Manor, San Leanna, Sunset Valley, Webberville, or West Lake Hills.

Travis County CDBG invites you to comment on the proposed CDBG PY19, PY21, PY22, and PY23 Action Plan Substantial Amendments. Invitation is available in English and Spanish (español). Comments will be accepted for 30 days beginning January 14, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ending on February 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. or by participating in a public hearing on February 10, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. The Public Comment draft and summaries in English and español are now available for review.

Home Rehabilitation Pre-Screening Tool Available

Travis County CDBG has launched a pre-screening tool to help income-eligible homeowners take the first step toward applying for the Home Rehabilitation Program. This tool helps determine if you may qualify for the Home Rehabilitation Program.
To qualify through pre-screening, you must:

  • Live in the Travis County CDBG service area
  • Be a homeowner using the home as a primary residence
  • Meet income guidelines (to be verified later)
  • Have a home outside the 100-year floodplain

Please note: Meeting these criteria through pre-screening does not guarantee eligibility or services. Travis County CDBG: Year in Review

Over the past year, the Travis County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) has significantly enhanced community spaces and improved residents' quality of life. This video showcases key projects, including the Crystal Bend Drainage Improvement for better drainage and road safety, the Forest Bluff and Austin Colony ROW Improvements for increased accessibility and transportation efficiency, and the award-winning Southeast Metro Playground, an all-inclusive park for families. As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of HUD’s CDBG program, we thank the community for their support and look forward to continuing to serve the people of Travis County.

2025 TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 8.0 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $24.73.
